What to expect at your first visit
A friendly smile and a few jokes is the first thing you will receive at Sydney Spine & Sports Centre (S3C). After that, your first visit with one of our Balmain and Rozelle chiropractors will go like this.
A few forms
To get started, we need a few details from you. We recommend you arrive 10 – 15 minutes before your scheduled consultation to complete our new patient forms. You can also complete these forms online before your consultation and we will receive them.
Please also bring any scans or reports to your consultation as this may help your chiropractor determine the right treatment for you.
History
To understand your pain and give you the best treatment, we will ask you questions about your medical history, symptoms of your pain and any important events leading up to your injury.
Examination
With care and consideration, we will perform a thorough examination. This involves tests such as:
- Orthopaedic tests
- Functional tests
- Neurological tests
- Movement and coordination tests
Diagnosis
Once we have taken your history and conducted a detail physical examination, our chiropractors will communicate what they think the cause of your problem is.
Treatment
We will begin the required treatment at your first visit.
Communication
Before you leave Sydney Spine & Sports Centre (S3C), your chiropractor will explain to you:
- Your diagnosis condition
- Our recommended tailored treatment plan for you
- Any self-managing exercises you can do at home
- How long you will require our care
- Approximate time until you’re recovered and pain free.
