Spondyloarthropathies are a collection of diseases that include ankylosing spondylitis, reactive arthritis (Reiter’s syndrome), psoriatic arthritis; inflammatory bowel disease-associated spondyloarthropathy and undifferentiated spondyloarthropathy. These conditions do not exclusively affect the neck however we have included them in the neck section for reference.
Spondyloarthropathies cause inflammation in the neck joints and where tendons and ligaments attach to bones (enthesis). Neck pain and stiffness are common.
The treatment of spondyloarthropathies is by a medical doctor. Chiropractic and physiotherapy are important for rehabilitation guided at reducing pain and maintaining function (movement etc). Contact our Balmain chiro today.
