Muscle related back pain
The back is the most common place for pain in the human body. Muscle pain from this area is common. Our chiropractors and physiotherapists will assess you back and determine if the muscles in the back are the cause of your pain. If so, we apply a series of muscle treatments to the area, such as massage, to reduce any pain or irritation in that area. Muscle treatments to this area may incorporate a range of active and passive techniques.
Muscle related hip pain
The hip is a common area of the body for muscle pain. It is important to have a chiropractor or physiotherapist first treat you in order to make sure there isn’t a more serious problem going on. For example labral tears in the hips can cause muscle spasms and pain. The primary cause of the condition must always be addressed. At Sydney Spine & Sports Centre (S3C) Balmain and Rozelle we use specialised massage treatments for hip pain such as deep tissue massage, sports massage, dynamic muscle releases, ultrasound and a variety of other techniques. All massage and muscle techniques are gentle and tailored to every individual.
Muscle related knee pain
At Sydney Spine &S Sports Centre (S3C) Balmain and Rozelle we utilise a very specific approach to treating knee pain. The knee is influenced by many structures including the back, hip and ankle. These areas must be assessed before delivering massage and muscle treatments to the site of the knee pain. Pain from the knee can come from a variety of locations given its multiple joint and the large amount of muscles that control it. Common causes of knee pain may include knee bursitis, patella tracking syndrome, ITB syndrome or iliotibial band syndrome, runners knee and knee osteoarthritis.
Muscle related foot and ankle pain
Massage and muscle treatments for foot and ankle pain can be very effective. Our chiropractors and physiotherapists deliver specific, effective and gentle massage and muscle treatments that are of the high quality. Common conditions that may present include calf tightness, calf muscle strain, tibialis posterior strain and various tendinopathies.
Is muscle therapy gentle?
Muscle and massage therapy, just like deep tissue massage, does use moderate pressure however this is extremely gentle and can be tailored to what each individual can tolerate and enjoy. Pressures are generally firmer than relaxation and Swedish massage and are more consistent with what you would expect from a sports massage or deep tissue massage.
